AIPPI Geneva 2004 _________________________________________________________________ Greetings to all friends and colleagues encountered during the AIPPI congress. Special thanks to those who took part in our "site-under-construction" Quiz. The approach used by our contestants to find the answers calls for comment. Patent Attorneys who didn't know or were not sure of an answer first made a guess, then checked. Outsiders to the profession used a different approach, browsing to find the answers. The guess/check method is widely used in our profession due to the fact that we are often called on to answer questions off-the-cuff without an opportunity to consult our reference works. Those who have followed the Patskills legal course will be aware of the "Golden Rules of Guessing", repeated here: 1. Always be aware when you are guessing. 2. Always check your guess at the earliest opportunity. 3. Take corrective or remedial action immediately. Thanks again for your feedback.
